Opening Chapters

Written by Fiona McLaren

These opening chapters explore how the painting came into my family, what first motivated me to investigate her, and then my findings; In this riveting opening section you will read of the Sacred Feminine in the guise of Mary Magdalene, of Leonardo da Vinci and his philosophy, of the Priory of Sion, and of the mysterious Papal Bull which is attached to rear of the painting.

The artist who portrayed this Madonna in this guise in Southern France was depicting a highly heretical story and one which was punishable by death. Why would he? Who was he?

I believe it is one of the greatest artists of all time. One who was court artist to the French King; Francis l. Who spent his last days in his patronage though of whom we are expected to believe never painted anything for him; his name; Leonardo da Vinci.

What story is the painting by Leonardo da Vinci telling; well one of the oldest cover-ups of all time that of;

Mary Magdalene and her child by Christ, portrayed in Southern France with Aix en Provence as the backdrop. This is important for this location is one which we know is associated with Mary Magdalene for it was in Provence that they , the Christos family sought refuge post Christ’s Passion. It was to Southern France that the Judean refugees primarily escaped to, and those refugees included Mary Magdalene, Joseph of Arimethea, Lazarus, Martha, Maximinus and a young girl called Sarah.

St John the Baptist

This portrait by Leonardo da Vinci is not of the Virgin Mary;. Christ’s mother did not have Jesus in Southern France, She did not auburn hair. Yes John the Baptist is portrayed but importantly he is on another dimension, his reed cross pointing to an undermined tree, to the roots of it. This is a decoy cleverly masterminded so it would skirt under the gaze of the Church, but he is not part of the scene but separate from it and very much part of the philosophical story.

There is more to it , more than the symbolic clue of the three fleur de lys, and the palm, in the nimbus, more than the myriad of symbolic references which point to this being a heretical work of art, there is another compelling piece of information; A PAPAL BULL ISSUED BY POPE PAUL V; this painting was at one stage owned by him.

Heresy; Pope Paul V; a Papal Bull

A heretical portrait? Yes that is why there is a Papal Bull issued by Pope Paul V attached to the back of the painting. Pope Paul V owned this picture; Pope Paul V, instigated The Vatican Secret Archives, was implicated in blowing up the Houses of Parliament; was the Pope who deemed Galileo a heretic. Was the picture seized by him and placed in the Secret Archives. Did Napoleon take it when he stormed the Vatican? Never in the history of art has a painting gone to Auction with such a Papal Document attached to it. This is a RARE, an extremely rare work Chapter breakdowns of The Last Commission 17 of art. World experts are in agreement, this has a connection to Leonardo da Vinci; so what else is there to discover;

NEW OBSERVATIONS; CAN YOU SEE A FACE TO THE RIGHT OF MARY’S SHOULDER; IN AN AREA WHICH I THOUGHT WAS UNFINISHED LIES A FACE, A BEARDED FACE. HOW DID I MISS THAT; IS IT REALLY THERE? Most people can see it; can you?

Revelations and the quest of what he strove to encode ignited my 8 years of research, research which was to include several other artifacts which were her journeymen, and which were to prove themselves part of what called by called a Rose line.

What follows explains a more about what I was to discover and include; the Culdees, The Book of Kells, the Druids, the Freemasons, The Knights Templar, The Cathars, Rennes le Chateau, the Pilgrimage of Santiago de Compostella, Rosslyn Chapel, the Quaich and an enigmatic 17 century map commissioned by King Louis XIV, a Grail Map.

The Culdees, The Druids, The Book of Kells, Iona; the Merovingians
